Frequently Asked Questions
How does the 14-day trial work?
On registration, the school gets full access to all Pro features for 14 days. No credit card required. On day 13 we send a reminder email — if no card is added, after 24h the account moves to past_due (Pro features locked, but courses remain in the catalog in read-only mode). On day 21 without payment — canceled, and hidden from the catalog.
What's included in Founder Pricing?
The first 100 schools lock in €19/mo on the Pro tariff forever. This price stays even when we raise standard Pro to €99/mo in 2027. Founder status is automatically set in admin on registration with the founder promo code and cannot be lost — even if you pause the subscription.
How much do I save with annual billing?
Annual = 10 months of the monthly price. So on Pro you pay €690/year instead of €828 (€69 × 12) — saving €138/year (17%). On Business — saving €298/year. Plus all loyalty discounts (Silver/Gold/Platinum) and Founder price lock still apply.
Can I switch between tariffs?
Yes, anytime under /school/billing. Upgrades apply immediately (prorated to the remaining period). Downgrades — from the start of the next billing cycle (Stripe Customer Portal). On Pro→Starter downgrades we offer "stay on Pro at 50% off for 3 months" — a retention mechanic.
How is loyalty calculated (Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum)?
By months since school registration. 0-2 mo = Bronze (standard). 3-11 mo = Silver (-5% on subscription). 12-23 mo = Gold (-10% on subscription + bonus promo slot). 24+ mo = Platinum (-10% + free add-ons worth €5/mo). Discounts apply automatically — no promo codes needed.
Does the referral programme work?
Yes. Each school gets a unique invite code. When the invited school pays for any tariff — both get 1 month of Pro free (€69 equivalent). No limit on referrals.
What about payment commission?
A flat 5% KIDO commission is added to every parent booking (trial lesson, single visit, monthly or annual offering). That's still cheaper than Sawyer (6%) or ActivityHero (8%). We earn from two sources: school subscription + 5% per booking. The standard Stripe fee (1.5% + €0.25) applies on top per transaction — that's Stripe's fee, not KIDO's.
Hosting and GDPR?
All data is stored on Supabase in the eu-central-1 region (Frankfurt). The web app is deployed on Vercel Frankfurt. Full GDPR compliance + ready DPA contract + right to erasure and data export. Stripe Connect for payments — European jurisdiction.
